Spring 2008 Game Credit/Refund

Summary:

Game fees for games not played in the spring will be credited/refunded as they have been in the past. We are able to do this because we were able to reduce expenses over the course of the spring and some capital expenses were not spent. At the end of the fiscal year (August 1, 2008) we expect to break even.

Detail:

League fees include referee fees, administration fees, and game/complex fees. League policy in the past has been that the administration fee is not credited or refunded because the administration services are provided (games are scheduled, the office is open, etc.) and costs are incurred for these services. The referee fees are fully credited/refunded. The game/complex fees are usually fully credited/refunded because the number of games not played is small so the basic costs of the complex are covered by the games which were played. Game/complex fees are subject to partial crediting if the actual costs of complex operation are not covered. Because of the number of games cancelled this spring we were concerned that all complex operation costs would not be covered. However, we were able to reduce the costs over the spring. This and reduction in capital improvements allow us to be able to fully credit/refund the game/complex portion of the league fee. We believe we will be able to break even this fiscal year.

Per game refunds are calculated as follows: (League fee – admin fee) /number of scheduled games. So to calculate your credit, take your Spring league fee, subtract the administration fee ($275), divide the result by the number of games included in the league fee, then multiply the result by the number of games not played.

For example, a U10 team scheduled to play 10 games but did not play 3 games would be credited as follows: (($1155-$275)/10)*3 = $264.

How are credits/refunds handled?

All credits/refunds are made to the person, club, team, or entity which paid the league fee.

Refunds are made to graduating high school teams. All other teams are credited for the following season. If you have a special case, please call the office.
