Location: All soccer competition will take place in the Columbia area
Entry Fee: $250 for U6 and U7.
$250 for 50 and Over
$350 for U8 / U9 / U10
$375 for all others (excluding Governor's Cup)
$400 for Governor's Cup teams
Deadline: Entries are still being accepted and will be through July 1.

ROSTER / ROSTER ADDITIONS
We must have a completed roster turned into our office along with your registration. Players may be added to your roster at no charge prior to the following deadlines. If you register by mail, your roster must be turned into our office by July 7. If you register online, your must enter your roster into the Team Management by July 7. Please note your team entry and payment must be received by your sport’s specific entry deadline. Changes may still be made to your roster after these dates, but MUST be done during check-in at the Hearnes Center. Roster additions at this time will be charged $5 per person added to the roster and there will be no limit to the roster addition charges. Additions received after these dates will not be processed.
Format: Endorsed by the U.S. Soccer Federation
Ages U6 and U7 will play (4) 12 minute quarters with 2 minute breaks except for 10 minute halftime. Ages 12 and under will play (2) 25 minute halves. All other age groups will play (2) 30 minute halves.
There will be NO overtime except for semi-finals and finals. Thes games will have two 5-minute overtime periods played to completiona nd, if still tied, will be repeated once. If still tied, game will be determined by penalty kicks. (Except U6 and U7 which if tied at the end of regulation will be considered a draw and medals awarded accordingly.)
The U6 and U7 divisions will play 6 vs. 6. The U8, U9, U10 and Men's Over 40 divisions will play 8 vs. 8. Coed and Men's Over 50 will play 8 vs. 8. All other age groups will play 11 vs. 11. All limits include goalie.
Age groups U6 and U7 will play with a size-3 ball. Age groups U8 to U12 will play with a size-4 ball. All other age groups will play with a size-5 ball.
Females may play on a male team in their respective age groups. (i.e. Mixed teams will play in the male division.)
Rules: Roster is limited to 18 players with the following exceptions. U6 and U7 have a roster limit of 12.
The SMSG officials, soccer commissioner and district coordinators reserve the right to bracket teams based on their knowledge of skill level. Coaches will be made aware of any changes.
A player may not enter or play on more than one team on each weekend.
Coaches with more than one team are encouraged to have alternates available to coach the team(s) when schedule conflicts arise; schedule variations will not be made to accommodate these coaches.
For the purpose of the SMSG, a recreational team is a team:
Whose members include no more than 2 players who have played on a competitive team during the previous 12 months.
A competitive team is defined as:
Members are selected through tryouts, invitation or through a district wide competitive process from either competitive or recreational players.
Team includes 75% of the players who have played together for 2 soccer seasons or more in competitive or select leagues and/or tournaments;
Contains more than 3 or more players who have played on a competitive team during the previous 12 months;
High school team players are considered competitive players.
U6 and U7 teams will have the following rules in addition to the standard USSF rules.
Games will be played 6 vs. 6 players; this includes goalie.
No off-sides will be called.
All fouls result in an "Indirect Kick."
All free kicks are "Indirect".
No indirect kicks shall be taken by the attacking team within the defending teams goal box.
Opponents must be 6 yards away on the start of play, corner kicks, and indirect kicks.
U8 will have the same rules as U6 and U7 with the exception that games will be played 8 vs. 8.
U9 and U10 teams will play with the standard USSF rules except that games will be played 8 vs. 8.
Players may not play up more than two age brackets without written authorization from the SMSG Director of Competition.
