We are very fortunate to live and work in an area that so many people call the birthplace of U.S. soccer. Nowhere else can young children find such a wealth of soccer knowledge and training to introduce them to The Beautiful Game.

St. Charles Youth Soccer Association has been a part of this tradition for over twenty years and has served as a place for our children to begin their soccer journey and advance on to their dreams. Many things have changed over this time and we feel that we must continue to evolve as well to better serve the soccer community.

To further our mission and enhance your own club programs, SCCYSA will be establishing a new level of competition called the Academy League. This new division will be a place where clubs can meet and compete to advance soccer knowledge and skills in their young players and in those players that are not yet ready to move into competitive or select leagues. This division shall replace our current Rec+ division and serve as the stepping stone between recreational and competitive programs.
At the younger ages, U/5 to U/8, the focus will be on player development. Their will be no posted standings and we ask that all the clubs do a reality check and not load or hand pick their teams. If we feel that a team has been hand picked or that it is too strong to be of a mutual benefit for other teams to compete with, we will ask that those players be reassigned to other teams within your club or moved up in age.

At U/9 and above we will have posted standings and we again reserve the right to move the top team or teams either up in age or into our competitive division to maintain the spirit of the program.

To help your clubs maintain costs we will offer this league at the same cost as our recreational division, $65 per player/per season (U/5-U/7) and $80 per player/per season (U/8 & above). Additionally we can extend the offer of supplying your teams with shorts and socks at no additional charge and you are free to provide them with your clubs jersey or shirts.

We would also like to form an Academy Committee to advise us to any additional goods and services we might add to our program. The ideas and programs developed by this committee shall be taken to the SCCYSA board for advisement and execution. The committee would be open to all teams & clubs that participate in the league with each team representing one vote on the committee but no club shall be allowed more than three votes total to make sure that the needs of all clubs are being met regardless of size.
