RE: Extension of Deadlines to Play Regular Season Games
With around 200 postponed games this MRL Spring Season, an abundance of State Cup conflicts for the remaining weekends, and at the request of numerous teams, the MRL has extended the deadline in order to complete Spring Season games as follows (please read carefully as the extension applies only to specific postponed games):
• The deadline to play any game postponed on or prior to April 28, 2008 due to field conditions or weather issues has been extended to Sunday, June 8, 2008. This includes both Premier and First Division games that were postponed only due to field and/or weather prior to April 28, 2008.
• No currently scheduled games (from today through to the end of the season) may be mutually postponed and re-scheduled as per MRL Scheduling Policy after the May 18 (for Premier Division teams) or June 4 (for First Division teams) deadlines unless (1) the game is actually postponed dueto field and/or weather conditions; or the game is postponed due to State Cup conflicts due to the rescheduling of State Cup games; and (2) a request for re-scheduling is made in writing to theMRL and approved by the Commissioner, who shall have the sole authority in granting a scheduling extension for such game.
• The three-day requirement to reschedule has been waived for balance the Spring Season.
Further, any game that is not played by the end of the regular season shall be recorded as a NO CONTEST GAME and the game will be recorded as played but with no score and thus each team earning zero (0) points for the contest. The MRL reserves the right to re-visit the deadlines in the event that further multiple postponements occur during the remainder of the Spring Season.
