Green Football Development, the official developmental training academy of Panathinaikos Futbol Club of Athens, Greece, recently announced the arrival of their developmental academy in the United States. Given the magnitude of this historical U.S. soccer announcement, GFD will be conducting a question and answer session in an attempt to address any and all questions the United States soccer community and members of the media may have surrounding the arrival of Green Football Development. Please join them Thursday, February 7th, 2008 for this informative event. Comments will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Maryville Illinois.

Founded in 2005, Green Football Development has created a network of more than 70 academies located throughout Greece and Cyprus. The academy’s purpose is to develop and scout players on a national, and now international, level with a direct path to the central academy in Paiania (Athens), Greece where players reach professional ranks for Panathinaikos FC. This is the first international expansion of its kind and will début in the St. Louis Metro area before expanding to other cities across the United States!
