I have had a chance to go through the receipts from the MC United Tournament and 99% of the expenses were valid receipts. After speaking with MC United they have removed a couple of items which were less than 5K that we deemed not to be valid expenses based on the MYSA policy.
There was a total of $57,423 collected for the tournament in which $22,013 were valid expenses that I verified to be accurate and valid. I have personally contacted each and every business from whom MC United had invoices to confirm validity.
The expenses for the tournament included the following:
Trebor Dryb Tournament Scheduling $(4,425)
**Vendor agreed to take a percentage of fees original invoice $10,225.00 **
Athlete Trainers and Medical Staff $ (3,270)
**Contract requires 100% payment if cancelled within 72 hours**
Landscaping and field maintenance and repairs $ (4,290)
**Work completed **
Field Paint $ (644)
Referee Assignor $(2,009)
Site Manager $ (525)
Referee Air and Travel Expenses $ (6,300)
MYSA Sanctioning Fee $ (550)
Total Expenses $22,013
I would like to thank Mark Chartrand for his assistance and cooperation with this matter he was extremely helpful, forthcoming and willing to resolve this issue.
I had a chance to meet with the MC United Board on Monday afternoon April 28th to go over my findings and to help determine the appropriate amounts that should be returned to each team. We have calculated the refund amounts for each team based on a percentage of the total revenue and expenses in which was paid into the tournament then divided by age groups and calculated on the total cash amount paid into the tournament.
Please expect to receive a response from MC United shortly as they finalize the emails to be sent out. MC United has agreed that refunds are expected to be returned no later than May 15, 2008.
If anyone has any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me directly.
