SLYSA Communications 6 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
As you know, last Fall we began to use the gotsoccer software for league management and scheduling One of the primary reasons we chose it is that it makes it possible to get information to teams faster by using email. This spring we have been using this feature to provide initial schedules and schedule updates. Team officials (coaches and managers) may modify their email address information by logging into their SLYSA/gotsoccer account. If you don't remember your login information, you may go to www.soccerscheduler.com click on the Soccer Teams menu item and then ask for password lookup.

In addition to an email to a team official, the SLYSA/gotsoccer software also provides the option to send email messages to team members. To do this, a team official must add the team member to the team roster with their email address by going to their SLYSA/gotsoccer account adding the team member along with their email address in the team roster segment of the account.

If you prefer, you may also have the information sent to your cell phone as a text message. This can be done by entering the 10 digit cell phone number along with the cell phone provider address in place of the team official or player email address when you enter the information in your team account. The following is a list of the more common cell phone provider information you would need to use this feature (replace the phrase "10DigitPhoneNumber" with your cell phone number):

Ameritech --- This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

The reason we bring this up is that we plan to use the feature in the future to provide league information via email. The first use will be for game change notification.

Currently whenever a game is cancelled, the information is entered on the telephone system so that team officials may contact that phone number to check if game changes are to be made (this is the most reliable information). The SLYSA website is then updated with the same information. On a trial basis, in addition to the above, an email will also now be sent to all team officials on the SLYSA/gotsoccer account as well as to all email addresses for rostered players which were entered by the team officials.

We hope this works out and is helpful.

One side comment. once you update the roster and corresponding email information, you may also use your team SLYSA/gotsoccer account to send emails to your team members.

Thanks.
Roger Uphoff

I had a chance to chat with Roger Uphoff today and he has agreed to use this forum as a way to communicate with folks about the operations of SLYSA, however he has asked that all schedule questions be directed to the office.

So here is your opportunity to squash those rumor mills about SLYSA and get it straight from the source, many people has asked for him to respond so here is your opportunity to get those questions answered.

Let's get things out in the open and get to the truth as to how we can improve youth soccer for our kids.
